I do too, to an extent (I personally think there’s such a thing as too many tattoos), but then you get the usual “I don’t speak Arabic but look at this…

lookatthisfuckinggadje: i would really like it if everyone who wanted a gypsy tattoo just went ahead and got one. that way i’d have an easier time knowing who to avoid or apply liberal amounts of my derisive and mocking attitude to at my leisure. I actually adore traditional tattoos. And, a lot of times when I used to see these tattoos I thought they were…sailor girl tattoos or just other pretty 50’s style trad tattoos. I have 4 tattoos…with more on the way, and lots of piercings so I am a bodymod fan. I think the “gypsy” girl tattoos are beautiful…but I just cant understand why theyre called “gypsy girl” tattoos?? What is innately “gypsy” (ugh) about this???? And every one of them is the same or very similar. Do we all wear flowers in our hair? Are we all black headed???  Someone please explain. DO WE ALL WEAR RED LIPSTICK? The red lipstick was, for a long time, why I thought they were ladies from the 1950s. Not the greatest logic either, I know. But since trad tattooing is 30s, 40s, 50s retro style.. I thought it was a decent conclusion to come to as I have no idea if or why this type of imagery (offensive “ethnic” imagery, “gypsies” etc) was popular then. Oh and WHY  so many sugar skull “gypsy” tattoos??? These two things…not connected. Just..dont do it. If you want a tattoo of a pretty lady…thats fine…but dont call it a “gypsy head.” Thats just…dumb. And creepy. *Note to artist: Her eyes are a little to far up on her head…eyes should always be right at the bridge of the nose. ^_^
